Thrapston In The Community
The Heart of Our Community
At Thrapston Primary School we are very proud members of our local community. We always strive to support the local community.
As a school we continuously take steps to bring the local community together. Steps that we have taken to support our community include hosting PTFA events, offering our facilities as a venue for community activities and providing pastoral support to our school's families.
Facilities Hire
Thrapston Primary School has a variety of facilities for hire in the evenings, weekends and during the school holidays and we welcome all enquiries from groups wishing to use them.
We have a sports field, two halls and several rooms that can be hired for sports, dance and drama events or for meetings and training conferences.
Please contact the main office for more information, if you are interested in using our facilities as a venue for your event.

PTFA
Thrapston Primary School PTFA is made up of parents, friends, staff and governors from the school. In fact, as a parent or carer of a child at Thrapston Primary School you are automatically a member of the PTFA. We are a registered charity with HMRC and The Charities Commission. (No. 1144984)
The PTFA committee aims to organise events and activities that:
-
Raise money to benefit all of the children within the school
-
Create and maintain a fun sense of community within the school
-
Build and maintain relationships with the local community

COTSSP Membership
As part of our membership of our local sports partnership (COTSSP), we have access to a range of services and competitions.
We are Enhanced Plus members, which means that the partnership provides us with a specialist member of staff for half a day each week to support us in the development of our PE, sport and physical activity programmes. This support takes the form of curriculum mentoring and assessment guidance for staff, assisting the PE lead in developing the provision of different clubs and activities and adding value by supporting specialist projects. This member of staff also monitors the correct and suitable use of the Sports Premium Funding throughout the year.
In addition to this specialist support, we have access to a range of training and planning resources for PE and for bringing health and physical activity into the classroom. Additional support is available for sports development, swimming, change 4 life and community engagement through the partnership and our CSP, Northamptonshire Sport.
The partnership runs School Games activities for our area, and through our membership we also access a wider range of competitive opportunities including those for KS1 and in alternative/non-traditional sports.
Further initiatives offered by COTSSP include the School Games Values Baton Relay, Rugby World Cup Festival, young leaders conference and health champions training.
