Pupils as Leaders

In our school, we believe every child has the potential to be a leader!

At Thrapston Primary School, we give pupils the chance to take on special roles and responsibilities that help our school community grow. From School Council representatives to Bully Busters to School Prefects, our pupils help make decisions, support their classmates and set a great example for others. Being a leader helps children build confidence, teamwork and important life skills – all while having fun and making a difference!

Our School Council is a group of pupils chosen by their classmates to represent their views and help make our school an even better place. Meeting regularly with staff, School Council members share ideas, discuss important topics, and help plan events and projects. It’s a great way for children to have a voice, learn about democracy and work together to bring positive changes to our school community. Our school council also work closely with members of Thrapston Town Council to understand the roles and responsibilities of working for a town council.

At our school, we believe everyone should feel safe, happy and respected. Our Bully Busters are a team of trained pupils who help promote kindness, friendship and inclusion across the school. They support children on the playground, look out for anyone who might feel left out, and encourage others to treat everyone with care and respect, in line with our school values. Bully Busters help make our school a place where everyone feels welcome and valued.

Our prefects are responsible and trustworthy pupils chosen to be role models for the school. They help staff with daily routines, support younger children and lead by example in everything they do. Prefects take pride in representing the school and showing kindness, respect and responsibility at all times. Being a prefect is a special opportunity to develop leadership skills and make a positive impact on our school community.
