50 Before Year 7 (50B4Y7)

At Thrapston Primary School, we believe that learning goes far beyond the classroom. That’s why we’ve created 50 Before Year 7”—a collection of 50 enriching experiences that every child will enjoy before they leave us at the end of Year 6. 

These experiences are designed to: 

• Spark curiosity 
• Build confidence 
• Encourage creativity 
• Promote kindness and community spirit 

From climbing a tree to visiting a museum, from writing a letter to meeting an author, each activity helps children step out of their comfort zone and into a world of discovery. 

Our 50 experiences are grouped into four key areas: 

• Arts, Culture & Heritage 
• Appreciation of Nature 
• Physical & Practical Skills 
• Contributing to Society 

Each year, children tick off a number of these experiences, recording their memories in a special 50 B4 Y7 book. By the time they leave for secondary school, they’ll have a rich collection of moments that have helped shape who they are. 

Whether it’s gazing at the stars, learning to budget, or taking part in a performance, these experiences help our pupils grow into confident, capable, and compassionate young people.
