Back to School - Year 6 - Sept 2020
Everything you need to know about returning to school this September
Hello to all of you who will be joining us in Year Six, this September. Some of you came back to school for a few weeks at the end of year five, whereas others of you, haven’t been into school since the end of March. With this in mind, we understand that you may be feeling a mixture of excitement and nervousness, so we wanted to let you know what things will be like when you start Year Six.
As you already know, your first two days back will be with your Year Five teachers but you’ll have a chance to meet your new teacher on those first couple of days. From Monday 7th September, you’ll be with your new teacher, and your time in Year Six will begin.
Here’s the answers to a few questions that you might have:
Where should I go at the start of the day?
You will need to enter the school via the entrance next to the Bowls club and ensure that you are on the tennis courts at 8:55am. Once on the tennis courts, you will need to stand on one of the white lines around the edge (only one person on each line). Your teacher will come out and collect your class.
What should I bring to school each day?
It is important that you only bring your essential items into school, in your book bag. This will include your reading book and reading diary. You will not be allowed to bring rucksacks or pencil cases into school. Please also bring a water bottle.
Can I bring in a packed lunch?
Yes, you will still be able to bring in a packed lunch. One big difference this year will be that everyone who has a packed lunch will eat in their classroom and only those having hot school dinners will go to the lunch hall to eat.
What should I wear on my PE days?
On the days that you have PE, you should come to school dressed in your PE kit. Please make sure you consider the weather as you will be wearing this all day. Both Year Six classes will have Outside PE on Mondays and Indoor PE on Fridays.
We’re really looking forward to seeing you all in September. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to send us an email -
