Year 6 Art 13.7.20 Zentangle patterns

A zentangle is an abstract drawing created using repetitive patterns. The shape can be abstract or recognisable; for example, the outline of your hand, or a leaf. Check out the links below to get an idea of the sorts of patterns you could try before having a go at your own zentangle art work.

The zentangle method is intended to be a very relaxing, free, expressive and creative art form. It is ‘meant to be a form of artistic meditation’ and drawing zentangles is also linked to mindfulness, which aids relaxation. Maybe you could choose some relaxing music to listen to while you create your art work? Remember to send us pictures of what you have been up to!
