Hello Year 5 and welcome back to term 5!
We hope you have had a lovely sunny Easter break and had some fun with your family, did you manage to find any hidden Easter eggs? We have many exciting topics to focus on this term and as we are sure you will know we are starting the term with distance learning to keep us all safe. We look forward to reading all the work you have produced on our new topic, The Victorians. Remember to email it in to us, then we can share on our blog. Your work can help others in the year group to develop their learning, just as we always do in our first week back.
For the next few weeks, until we return to school, Maths learning and activities will be blogged on a Monday by Mrs Owen for the whole week. This will include our new learning and Simmering Maths activities to keep our previous learning fresh, just as we do in school. In maths over the next few weeks we will be focusing on measuring and converting. In Simmering Maths we will recap on addition and subtraction facts as well as telling the time to the nearest minute and calculating what the time will be when we add on extra time, for example, what time will it be when the cake comes out of the oven in 25 minutes?
Mrs Aldwinckle will set our English activities for the week on a Monday and this will include the writing, spelling and SPaG learning for the week, as well as reading focuses.
Mr Smith has lots of exciting ideas for all our foundation subjects and he will be posting blogs through the week which will range from our topic on Victorians, Computing(e-safety), Science (growing up and growing old), lots of P.E and of course Art and Music! So look out for those posts!
As always, if you have any questions or wonderful work you would love to share, please email and we look forward to receiving your fantastic Easter Victorian homework!
