Year Five Home Learning
Here are the home learning tasks for those of you learning at home.
Good morning to the children working from home these last few days of term. Here are some activities for you to be trying at home today. Your parents should receive an invite to a TEAMS meeting later today for Friday onwards. All of the work covered in tomorrow's TEAMS session will also be on the blog like before.
We have all been very impressed with your amazing work on our modernised version of ‘Goldilocks’. You have all had such imaginative ideas. For today’s English task we would like you to recreate the front cover and blurb of your new version of the story.
Remember when we did this for ‘The Three Little Pigs’………..
‘Victim or Criminal- you decide? Everyone thinks they know the story of the three little pigs, but do you really know the truth? Did those ‘innocent’ piggies go too far? In this twisted tale of conspiracies and fraud, find out who you should really trust……’
On a piece of paper, try to write your own blurb for your ‘twisted tale’ of ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. Remember to not give too much away about the story. Try to gain the reader’s interest and leave them wanting more.
How could you adapt the front cover? Remember the characters, setting and events of your new story are very different. How could you make the illustration and title eye-catching and exciting?
Get your brains warmed up for the day by trying out the Emoji maths tasks saved below. There is a 1-star, 2-star and 3-star challenge for you to try. The answers are also attached- so remember, no peeking! As an extra challenge, try to create some of your own for a family member to complete. Try to make your own version nice and bright.
Take a look at the step-by-step art activity attached and try your hand at Manga style character drawing. Check out this video link too for a bit more detail- Good luck!
