Year Five Home Learning 24.2.21

Good morning Year 5. Here is your home learning for Wednesday 24th February.

Just a quick heads up, for tomorrow's maths you will need small objects to sort. This could be marbles, pasta shapes, lego pieces, any similar small objects that you can use to help your understanding.

In Maths today, we will be learning about improper and mixed number fractions. You will be using different picture representations and your knowledge of multiplication and division facts to help you. Remember to follow the Power Point carefully and challenge yourself when choosing your task. There is a 10 minute maths task for you to complete too.

In English, we will be continuing to develop our news article, using the story of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears.' Yesterday, you came up with a catchy headline and strap line to grab the reader's attention. Today we will be creating a byline to give the reader more information about the news story, and help them decide if they want to read on.

Check out the link below to this weeks P.E. tasks with Fiesta sports. There is a new dance for you to try out.

Also, we have included a Guided Reading task for you to complete today. Follow the instructions on the Power Point. You can find the text in the Power Point too. Once you have read it carefully try to answer the questions in full sentences.

Keep up the great work- we look forward to seeing what you have been up to!
