Hope you all had a lovely, safe and cracking Easter break.

As you tackle another few weeks of home learning, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your hard work and sheer determination and commitment, in helping to make you child’s learning fun and enjoyable. We are all on a learning curve – so try not to feel too overwhelmed.  

Also, thank you for all of your photographs and pictures of the children’s amazing work, effort and learning. It is always a pleasure to see.

For this first week back of the summer term – BBC Bitesize has a series of daily lessons:

This will ease them back into their use if grammar.

(You can try Monday’s lesson on Pronouns as an extension at any point throughout the week.)

Tuesday 21st April:  Expanded Noun Phrases

  • A short clip(s) to watch with a full explanation of nouns and adjectives; with activities to complete

Activity 1 – write down the expanded noun phrases mentioned in the video clips.

Wednesday 22nd April:  Past tense verbs and verb families

Thursday 23rd April:  Description using adverbs and adverbial phrases

Friday 24th April:  Reading with a focus on poetry (and performance.)
