Y4 Safer Internet Day

Safer Internet Day will be on 9th February 2021.

This will be celebrated using the theme:

An internet we trust: exploring reliability in the online world

This year in the UK, Safer Internet Day explores reliability online.  The internet has an amazing range of information and opportunities online, but how do we separate fact from fiction.

Safer Internet Day will be celebrated globally with the slogan: Together for a better internet.

You can find a range of videos to share with your child,as well as some other useful information on the website: https://www.saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day/2021

There are also some documents attached to this blog with information, activities and even a quiz that you might like to carry out.

We will be sharing the safer internet virtual assembly with the children in school.  You can watch this at home at the following link:

KS2 Assembly - https://www.saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day/safer-internet-day-2021/i-am-educator/work-7-11s/virtual-assembly-7-11s

The specific online scenarios in KS2 assembly video will encourage you to think critically as an internet detective in order to resolve them. The range of online scenarios will cover gaming and trading, authenticity of videos and images, chain messages, strangers asking to meet up, news headlines and phishing of personal information via advertisements and competitions.
