Y4 Work Tasks for Thursday 4th February 2021
English, Maths and Geography tasks for Thursday
Good morning Year 4,
We hope you are well.
How are you getting on with our daily quiz questions? The answer to yesterday's question is the Sea of Tranquillity can be found on the moon.
Today's question is this. On this day in 1789 the first President of the United States (pictured above) was elected. What was his name?
Today (Thursday) we will begin with our weekly spelling test. So make sure you have learnt the words on your list.
We will then move onto Maths where we are calculating fractions of a quantity.
Blue learners will be finding simple unit fractions of quantities e.g. 1/3, 1/5, 1/8....etc.
Green learners will be looking at simple non-unit fractions of quantities e.g. 2/5, 3/10. 2/3...etc
White learners will be using non-unit fractions of quantities e.g. 4/8, 6/9...etc.
In English we will be doing a SPaG lesson on homophones and homographs and you will complete an activity sheet on homophones.
Blue learners will recognise and use a homophone.
Green learners will recognise, use and put homophones into sentences.
White leaner will also do this but include using homographs.
In the afternoon we will do Geography where we will look at hills and mountains in the United Kingdom. For this you will need to apply your maths skills to plot data on graphs.
If you are confused (discombobulated!) or need some support, please feel free to email us.
