English, Maths and Art tasks for Wednesday 3/2.
Good morning Year 4
We hope you are well. The answer to yesterday's quiz question is - New Amsterdam is the old name for New York. Today's question is out of this world. The picture above shows a sea., but... where would you find the Sea of Tranquility?
We are going to start today with our times table grids. As usual you will have 7 minutes to complete it.
In English we will continue to look at features of poetry and having a go at writing a short stanza based on sound, so you might need to apply some of the Science vocabulary covered this term.
Blue learners should complete 2 stanzas using onomatopoeia and alliteration.
Green learners should try and complete three stanzas using the above and a simile and assonance.
The white challenge is to also complete 3 stanzas but try and include a metaphor and symbolic words.
A challenge for everybody is to see if you can complete 5 stanzas using as many features that we have discussed in the lesson.
In Maths we will continue to subtract fractions but from whole amounts.
Blue learners will subtract from whole amounts which are expressed as improper fractions. Using pictures to help.
Green learners will subtract from whole amounts which are sometimes expressed as improper fractions. Some pictures will be provided.
White learners will subtract from whole amounts which are sometimes expressed as improper fractions. Some of the denominators are double or half of the starting fraction, you will also create your own pictures.
In the afternoon we will focus on Art. Have a look at Mrs Denney's informative video about how to draw and shade a cube / cuboid to support the powerpoint we have uploaded for you. The links is https://safeshare.tv/x/cEtwtIF_iQk#.
