Hello Year 4
Welcome to the new normal!
Mrs Siwiak-Denney and Mr Smith are looking forward to welcoming Lennox and Wonder classes back to school briefly on Thursday, before starting properly on Monday.
As some of us have not been into school since the end of March. We recognise you may be feeling a mixture of excitement and nervousness (including the adults). So we thought it would be helpful to give you some information about what you may expect to find when you return to school on Thursday.
As you may already know, your first two days back will be with your previous Year 3 teachers, but you will have a chance to meet either Mrs Siwiak-Denney or Mr Smith in this period. You will also get to meet Mrs Wyles and Miss Gothard, (who will by the designated teaching assistants for our year group) on those first couple of days.
From Monday 7th September, you will be with your new teacher, and your time in Year 4 will begin.
Here are the answers to a few questions that you might have:
Where should I go at the start and end of the day?
You will need to enter the school via the entrance next to Thrapston Bowls Club and make sure you are on the tennis courts at 8:50am. Once on the tennis courts, you will need to stand on one of the white lines around the edge (only one person on each line). Your teacher will come out and collect your class.
At the end of the day, your parents will be able to collect you from the tennis courts at 3.10pm where you will exit down the main drive.
What should I bring to school each day?
It is important that you only bring a coat, a named water bottle, a named lunch box (if applicable) and a book bag, which will include your reading book and reading diary.
You will not be allowed to bring rucksacks or pencil cases into school.
What should I wear on my PE days?
On the days that you have PE, you should come to school dressed in your PE kit. Please make sure you consider the weather as you will be wearing this all day.
Lennox Class will have indoor PE on Wednesday and outdoor PE on Friday.
Wonder class have indoor PE on Thursday and outdoor PE on Tuesday. Should these days be subject to change, we will let you know.
Therefore, on days you have to come to school in PE kit, jogging bottoms and a warm top would be useful.
We cannot wait to start the new school year with you this week and look forward to returning to (the new) normal.
