Year 4 Home Learning – Friday 17th July 2020

We have made it to the end of the academic year and this is our final home learning blog!

Here are your final tasks:

1. Look at your results from your “bee watch”.  Can you create a bar chart to show your results? Can you write some questions for your parents to answer?

2. Bees are a vital part of our lives and have crept into our language through expressions and sayings. For example, ‘busy as a bee’, ‘none of your beeswax’. Can you think of anymore?

3. Make and play the bee board game attached to this blog.

4. Complete the beehive hexagon maths investigation worksheet. It tells you to use match sticks but you might want to use straws or lolly sticks or pencils…in fact you can use anything you can find to make a hexagon shape. Predict how many match sticks are needed to make different amounts of hexagons.

5. Create a bee acrostic poem. Challenge yourself to create one about bumblebees or honey bees.

6. Complete the true or false sorting activity.

We are so proud of how hard you have worked at home since lockdown started in March. You have been absolutely amazing and it has been a pleasure seeing your learning and some of the creative ways you have brought your learning to life.

We would also like to take the opportunity to thank your parents for all of their support during this unusual time.

We are looking forward to having you all back in September, all ready for Year 5.

Keep safe and enjoy the summer!
