Year 4 Home Learning – Friday 26th June 2020

Hello! In this blog you will find your maths, English and geography task for Friday. We have also included a little starter to make sure your brain is warmed up before you start.

Have a look at the picture of Henry VIII painted by Holbein (on the starter PowerPoint) and answer the following questions.

   1. What colour are the jewels in Henry's necklace?

   2. Why is Henry standing with his hands on his hips?

   3. How has Holbein made Henry seem powerful?

English Task:

We are going to learn how to use fronted adverbials in our writing. Firstly, read the PowerPoint and have a go at the two independent tasks.

Maths Task:

We are going to learn how to recognise and order different types of angles. Have a look at the PowerPoint and then choose a worksheet to complete.

Topic (Geography) Task:

We are going to explore the physical features of Greece. Read the PowerPoint and watch the videos before having a go at the worksheet.

Additional Tasks:

You have been learning at home for a while now and we know that it is important to look after our mental health. At some point this week, we would like you to have a go at a PSHE task about emotions. Have a look at the pictures on the PowerPoint and try to decide what emotion is being shown. Then choose one of the emotions shown on the PowerPoint and draw a picture or write a paragraph (or both) about an occasion where you felt that emotion. You can find the PowerPoint on Monday's blog.

It is really important to stay active! Here are a couple of ideas for this week:

Go Noodle Smallfoot: Do the yeti Dance Routine:

Wizard of Oz Yoga:

Please try and read at least 5 times this week. You can read a variety of different texts. Why don't you try to read something different? You could also sign up to the library summer reading challenge (

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We would love to see what you have been doing, so please continue to send us your work! Remember to let us know if you would like any photos uploaded onto the Year 4 gallery.
