Year 4 Home Learning - Monday 22nd June 2020

Hello!  In this blog you will find your weekly spellings, English, maths and RE tasks.

Watch the advert (  and then answer the questions.

  1. What can you see and do at the tour?
  2. How are the visitors feeling? How do you know?
  3. Why did they choose to put the effect on the adult voices?

Attached to this blog is a PowerPoint with your weekly spellings. Once you have learnt your spellings, try using them in a sentence. Remember to use a conjunction and an adverb to make them more interesting.

English Task:

This week we are going to complete some SPAG tasks.  Today we are going to look at how to punctuate direct speech correctly. Make sure you have a piece of paper handy before you look at the PowerPoint because there are some tasks on it for you to have a go at. Then choose a worksheet to complete.

Maths Task:

This week we are going to learn about triangles. The PowerPoint tells you about the properties of different types of triangles. Look at the PowerPoint and then choose a worksheet to complete.

Topic (RE) task:

This week we are going to learn about Islamic special festivals. Read through the PowerPoint and then complete the activity.

Additional Tasks:

You have been learning at home for a while now and we know that it is important to look after our mental health. At some point this week, we would like you to have a go at a PSHE task about emotions. Have a look at the pictures on the PowerPoint and try to decide what emotion is being shown. Then choose one of the emotions and draw a picture or write a paragraph (or both) about an occasion where you felt that emotion.

It is really important to stay active! Here are a couple of ideas for this week:

Go Noodle Smallfoot:Do the yeti  Dance Routine:

Wizard of Oz Yoga:

Please try and read at least 5 times this week. You can read a variety of different texts. Why don’t you try to read something different?  You could also sign up to the library summer reading challenge (

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We would love to see what you have been doing, so please continue to send us your work! Remember to let us know if you would like any photos uploaded onto the Year 4 gallery.
