Year 4 Home Learning – Friday 19th June 2020

Hello!  In this blog you will find your maths, English and science task for Friday. We have also included a little starter to make sure your brain is warmed up before you start.

Watch the clip ( and answer the following questions.

  1. What colour are the teeth in the clip?
  2. What is the clip warning you about?
  3. Why did the director use talking teeth to deliver the information in this advert?

English Task:

Today you have two tasks. Firstly, we would like you to read you text about Sicily to an adult and answer the following questions:

  1. What do you think is good about your writing?
  2. What would you like to improve?

Secondly, we would like you to write your own persuasive text about visiting Greece. We have attached a PowerPoint to this blog to help you. Also, use your Sicily persuasive writing to give you ideas. We are looking forward to reading your persuasive writing.

Maths Task:

Today is our final lesson on lines of symmetry. Work through the PowerPoint before choosing a worksheet to complete. Then check your answers.

Topic (Science) Task:

Last week we learnt about how humans can destroy habitats and the environment. This week we are going to find out how destroying habitats impact the animals that live there. Have a look at the information on the PowerPoint. We would then like you to write a report about one endangered animal.

We would like you to include:

  • A picture of the animal
  • A description about their habitat
  • An explanation about what changes to the environment have made the animal an endangered species.
  • Suggest what can be done to save the animal from extinction.

You can use the format attached to this blog or you can present your research in a different way if you have another idea.

Additional Tasks:

It is really important to stay active! Here are a couple of ideas for this week:

Go Noodle Trolls  Dance Routine:

Star Wars Yoga:

Please try and read at least 5 times this week. You can read a variety of different texts. Why don't you try to read something different? You could also sign up to the library summer reading challenge. (

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We would love to see what you have been doing, so please continue to send us your work! Remember to let us know if you would like any photos uploaded onto the Year 4 gallery.
