Year 4 Home Learning - Monday 15th June2020 (Blog 1)

Hello! In this blog you will find your weekly spellings, English and RE tasks. We have also included a little starter to make sure your brain is warmed up before you start. You will find today's maths task as well as a  Father's Day task in blog 2.

Watch the following clip and then answer the questions.

1. What creature do we see in the clip that has a shell?

2. What is the effect of the music in this clip?

3. Why has the maker of this film made the speed of the filming go so fast?

Attached to this blog is a PowerPoint with your weekly spellings. Once you have learnt your spellings, try using them in a sentence. Remember to use a conjunction and an adverb to make them more interesting.

English Task:

We are going to continue writing our persuasive text about Sicily. Follow the PowerPoint to help you write the next two paragraphs. You might want to complete the work today or you might want to split the task and write a paragraph today and a paragraph tomorrow. Make sure you have your pieces of paper ready from last week and don't forget to start a new paragraph. We will be writing our final paragraph on Wednesday.

Topic (RE) Task:

This week we are going to learn about the Muslim place of worship - The Mosque. The PowerPoint includes some videos of different mosques from around the world. When you are finished, use the PowerPoint to help you write a short explanation about the different parts of a mosque. As an extra challenge, can you research a famous mosque and record 3-5 interesting facts about it.
