Year 4 Home Learning - Wednesday 10th June 2020

Hello!  In this blog you will find your maths, English and geography task for Wednesday. We have also included a little starter to make sure your brain is warmed up before you start.

Have a look at the picture on the starter PowerPoint to help you answer the following questions:

1.      How many varieties of Heinz beans are there?

2.      What on the advert might persuade parents to feed this food to their children?

3.      What have Heinz done to make the beans appear to be ‘truly magic’ in this advert?

English Task:

We are going to start writing a persuasive text about Sicily. We are going to try really hard to make some fantastic vocabulary choices. You might want to complete the work today or you might want to split the task and write the introduction today and the first paragraph on Thursday. It would be a good idea to make sure you have two pieces of paper ready before you start. One piece of paper can be used to jot down your ideas on and the other piece will be for your writing. Don’t lose the paper – We will be adding another paragraph on Friday!

Maths Task:

We are going learn about the different nets for 3D shapes. Have a look the PowerPoint and choose the correct level worksheet for you.

Topic (Geography) Task:

We are going to continue looking at modern Greece. Firstly, read and complete the tasks on the PowerPoint. We would then like you to label the cities, seas, mountains and islands on a map.

Additional Tasks:

Please try and read at least 5 times this week. You can read a variety of different texts. Why don’t you try to read something different?  You could also sign up to the library summer reading challenge (

It is also really important to stay active! Here are a few ideas:
