Year 2 Blog

Here is a new update blog from Year 2.

Hello from Year 2,

We have had a busy few weeks at Thrapston Primary School. We have had World Book Day, kindly donated useful items for Ukraine and had fun during Science week.

As you might have seen already in the gallery. The children looked amazing, so thank you for all of your effort. The children drew new book covers, created puppets and acted out the room on the broom story. We were also lucky enough to be visited by the Year 4 classes who came to read with us.

We hope all of our seeds made it home safely for the children to experience this year's theme 'growth. Please remind your children to look after and water this plant and feel free to send us email updates as the plant is growing. Have a look at the gallery for some pictures from what we did during Science week.

Our children have had a brilliant time designing and making a new chair for Baby bear. Some pictures of this can also be found in our gallery, the children learnt about how the chair needed to be stable, sturdy and strong. From this, we would also like to say a huge thank you for all the resources everyone brought in to help make these lessons possible.

We are lucky enough at school to have a useful resource called 'My on' to help the children with their reading and compression. We have noticed that this is not being fully used by all, so we would like to encourage you all to use this at home. Please feel free to write in the children's reading record as this will count as a read and the children should know how to use the website.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us.

Kind regards,

The Year 2 team.
