Year 2 Blog

Find out what Year 2 have been up to and what's coming up!

Year 2 have been working very hard over the last few weeks.  As you know we had our Titanic Wow Day last week which was a huge success! The children really enjoyed having a role to play onboard our imaginary Titanic and trying to access the lifeboats to get to safety. The children then wrote a recount of our Titanic Wow Day using past tense, powerful verbs, conjunctions and varied time words.

In maths we have been looking at division and how we can share a number equally between groups. The children have also been applying this to their knowledge of multiplication to find fact families.

Next term, we will be taking part in World Book Day on 3rd March, where children can dress up as their favourite character from a book.

We are also looking forward to Science week next term.

New P.E days after half-term:

Badgers- Monday and Wednesday

Hedgehogs-Monday and Thursday

We would appreciate any junk modelling items ready for our upcoming D.T topic.

Thank you for continuing to support your child at home with their reading. They should be reading at least 5 times a week and don’t forget you can access the online books and comprehension quizzes on Accelerated Reader and myOn too.

Please keep on practising times tables with your children too. The children need to ensure they can recall the facts and write them down quickly.
