Please find below the Y2 work for Monday 8.2.21.

We will be doing Guided Reading on Thursday. We have attached the text  (Roald Dahl) today, so that your child reads it, or so that you can read it with your child, before the session.

LO: To be able to use adverbs. 

Verbally say sentences. (yellow) 

Write sentences with an adverb in. (blue) 

Use full stops and capital letters.(blue) 

Use a range of adverbs. (green) 

Check that your sentences make sense. (white) 

  

Yellow: You need to read the sentences and choose an adverb to add into the sentence.  

Blue: Write sentences starting with these adverbs: 

Quickly, 

Loudly, 

Carefully, 

Happily. 

Remember full stops and capital letters. 

Green: Write 4 sentences about the pictures below. Your sentences must include a range of adverbs.  

White: Write 4 sentences about anything you want. Your sentences must include a range of adverbs. Check that your sentences make sense.

This week we will be learning about fractions. We will start on Monday by reminding ourselves about halves and quarters of shapes and quantities.

Draw lines to show ½ and ¼ of the shapes. (Blue) 

Calculate ½ and ¼ of quantities using grouping and practical apparatus. (Blue) 

Calculate ½ and ¼ of quantities using drawing or mental method. (Green)  

Identify ½ s and ¼ s of the shapes. Spot the odd one out. Explain why they are different.  (White) 

 

Geography  

This week in Geography we are making a map for our own imaginary town or local area, they can design the map however they would like. Whilst creating their map they can add some of the map symbols they learned last week and finally add a key.
