LO: To be able to plan a diary.

I can recognise days of the week.

I can say what I did on which days.

I can record in words or pictures for each day.

I can record more than one event in a day, sequencing them correctly.

I can add feelings to my plan.

Here are a selection of ‘Days of the Week’ links we’ve shared before that you may want to re-visit as a refresher:

Watch the teaching video here:

Children can use the planning document attached as a guide for planning their diary entry.  This should be completed in pictures or single words as we will be writing out the diary entry in full sentences over the next couple of days.

LO: To be able to measure length in cm using a ruler.

I can measure one end of an object starting at 0cm.

I can record length in cm.

I can draw lines to match length in cm accurately.

I can compare length in centimetres.

Starter: Play song about different ways of measuring. Look around the house to see what objects measuring length. Do any of them measure in centimetres?

Main: Play measuring game. Discuss that 1 end of the object must be in line with the 0cm and the other send will be in line with a number on the ruler which will tell us how long the object is in centimetres or cm for short. Practise several times.

Watch and go through activities on teaching video.

Please see Maths activities attached to the blog.
