Here are the Year 1 tasks for Thursday 11.2.21

English – Live Online session 9:00 – 10:30

LO: To be able to write a fact file.

I know that facts are real information.

I can think of facts about my chosen animal.

I can record my facts in a sentence.

I can use plurals that just add -s.

I can join ideas using ‘and’.

I can use plurals that add -es.

Using the fact file template attached to either print or use for guidance, children complete the parts of the fact file talked through in the video today – Appearance and Habitat.  Encourage children to use their plan to remind them of their facts.

 

Maths –  LO: To be able to count in 2s.

I can count up in 2s verbally.

I can use tens frames to record multiples of 2.

I can use pictures to count and record multiples of 2.

I can identify counting in 2s errors and explain how they can be corrected.

Use splat 100 square to find multiples of 2 and identify the pattern when counting in 2s. Every other number we skip past. https://www.topmarks.co.uk/learning-to-count/paint-the-squares

Discuss that multiples of two are even numbers, they always have a partner, you can demonstrate this with pairs of socks. (Yellow Maths activity)

Geography –

LO: To be able to create a map of my local area.

I can identify some features of my local area.

I can place features next to each other on my map as they are in my area.

I can use some ordnance survey symbols in my map making.

Thinking about your own local area can you create a detailed map using the Ordnance Survey symbols. 

You may want to use Google Maps or Google Earth to help you get a satellite or map view of your local area to help you.
