English –
LO: To be able to plan a fact file.
I know what information I need to find out.
I can use a planning structure to help me gather information.
I can record the information I find out in a plan.
I can identify a fascinating fact to add to my plan.
Watch the teaching video here: https://safeshare.tv/x/RxEpQE3YYNE#
Children can choose a polar animal they wish to create their fact file for. This could be one they’ve already researched as part of their Science work already or a new one.
Using the planning document either printed or as an idea for how children can organise their ideas, children add the information they have found out about their animal. This doesn’t have to be written out in sentences just yet, it could be pictures, lists or labels to help them remember the facts. They should try to record their own ideas where possible.

Please see the attached document for today’s tasks.
Science –LO: To be able to identify and name a variety of different animals and their adaptations.
I can select a polar animal.
I can use animal facts.
I can retell facts using scientific vocabulary.
Use your plan from English to record your very own polar animal documentary based on your favourite Polar animal. You can use cuddly toys, puppets or hand- made props to give facts about that animal’s life, it’s adaptations, camouflage, what it eats (carnivore, herbivore, omnivore). You can try to use some of the recording skills you were practising in computing last week to film your documentary I you wish. Even Miss Smith has had a go. Watch the link to give you some ideas: https://safeshare.tv/x/ZtKEbGi3ngE#
Computing -
LO: To be able to work collaboratively to film a recipe.
This week children will need the ingredients to make the healthy snack they have planned. You will be watching a TV chef and evaluating what works well in their video to use the same techniques.

Remember to watch back your video to see how you think it could be improved, whether you have good shots or not and were you loud enough to be heard?
