Here are the Year 1 tasks for Monday 1.2.21

Maths – Live Online session 9:00 – 10:30

L.O: To be able to count and recognise amounts up to 50.

I can count and recognise amounts to 20.

I can count amounts using tens frames to 50.

I can complete number stories when counting amounts to 50.

I can problem solve when counting amounts to 50.


Starter: Counting by 10s scratch garden. Use splat 100 square to identify counting in tens from different numbers 10, 14, 28, 25. Can you see a pattern?

You jump down 1 square each time on the 100 square when adding on 10.

Every time you add one 10 the tens number get 1 10 bigger and the ones number stays the same.


Main: Watch teaching video to help support the learning of numbers to 50.

English –  

LO: To be able to explain clearly what has been read to me.

I can answer questions with many multiple choice answers.

I can use inference to say how characters might be feeling.

I can use examples in the text to demonstrate my understanding.

DT – L.O: To be able to evaluate my product and adapt my design.

Other the last few weeks we have been constructing our windmills and this week we will be evaluating and testing them.  So have the pre-made windmills from last week ready to test and evaluate.

PSHE- L.O: To be able to identify when I am faced with new challenge.

This week we are going to be reflective and think about the times when we are faced with new challenges.  At the moment, life does provide us with lots of these so we are just going to take time to reflect on these, explore the monster meditation techniques that might be useful to us and to continue to think about how your child can stretch their own learning, whether it is at home or school.
