Welcome to Reception - Sept 2020
We are really looking forward to meeting you all on Monday 7th September and thought we would just answer a few questions you may have.
This year is a little different than usual and we hope that with our covid procedures we will help your child settle into school life quickly.
Where should I take my child at the start of the day?
You will need to enter the school via the entrance opposite the Peace Park and make sure you go past all the classrooms to get to the top playground (with the stage). The morning group to meet at 9am and afternoon group to meet at 12.30.
Your child's Teacher and Teaching Assistant will be waiting on the playground to greet you. Please line your child up in the correct line (there will be large signs with a Grasshopper and Butterfly on them) and leave the playground by the other exit, cross the car park and exit the school premises by the main driveway.
Where should I collect my child from?
You should gather at a socially distanced space on the same top playground at 11.30 for the morning session and 3pm for the afternoon session. Grasshopper parents to socially distance at the stage end of the playground, Butterflies at the car park end. Your adults will bring the children out to the playground and PLEASE be patient about waiting for your child to be returned by school staff to the correct adult, before leaving along the same one way system as in the morning.
What should my child bring to school each day?
On day one - it is important that your child only brings a named coat and named water bottle. After the first day they can also bring your book bag every day (school will provide) holding their reading diary and book. Please do not carry water bottles in their bookbag due to spillages.
Nothing else will be needed.
Can they bring in a packed lunch?
Once we are in full time (21st September) a named lunch box can be brought - or please remember to book your child's school lunch.
What should they wear on PE days?
Once we are in full time we will start PE on a Thursday. Please send your child in their PE kit, including warm weather additions and trainers/plimsolls and NOT in their school uniform on this day.
We are really looking forward to seeing everyone in September. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to send us an email as detailed in the picture below.
We all look forward to catching up soon,
