Primary School

Rainforests, reading, storytelling and swimming!

It has been an extremely busy first week back in Year 3!

We started the week with our Rainforest Day. We were visited by Paul Carpenter who brought a selection of rainforest creatures and artefacts for the children to see. Every class had a session with Paul where they got to meet and stroke some of the animals. The afternoon ended with a Q&A session with Paul about his time visiting rainforests of the world. For some photos of the day, please see the Year 3 Gallery.

On Wednesday afternoon, the children who read regularly each week in Term 3 were treated with the opportunity to read to the nursery children. All of the children loved it and were very sensible when reading with the younger children. For some photos of this, please see the Year 3 Gallery.

On Thursday, each class visited the David Wilson homes development on Market Road for a storytelling session in the brand new showhome! The children all set a great example and represented Thrapston Primary School brilliantly. Some of the children even asked "Can we go and look around the house?"

Finally, the week ended with the first swimming session for Year 3. Please check your bags in case of any missing/additional items of clothing/swimwear!

Next week, we have World Book Day to look forward to!
