Primary School

Fantastic Flag Fen

Year 3 had a fantastic trip to Flag Fen in Peterborough this week to learn about what life was like in the Bronze Age.

The children completed a variety of activities and tasks throughout the day. As soon as we arrived, the children looked carefully at a timeline and placed the Stone Age, the Bronze Age, the Iron Age and the Romans in the correct places. Can you remember what RIBS stood for?

Each class then completed three other tasks during the day: a tour of the Bronze Age site where the children looked at a real bridge and boats that had been built in the Bronze Age as well as making their own bracelet out of clay, an interactive experience including a story in the roundhouse and an artefact handling activity where the children handled various artefacts from the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age and considered their purpose.

All of the children behaved extremely well and set a fantastic example of Thrapston Primary School. We all had a brilliant day!

Please take a look at our Year 3 Gallery for some photos of the day!
