Rainforest Day!

We had a fantastic Rainforest Day on Monday!

We kicked off our Rainforest Day by closely examining and sketching different rainforest objects. We thought carefully about the materials used and what the objects may be and we labelled our sketches appropriately.

After break, we had a fasntic and informative talk led by our brilliant visitor, Paul Carpenter. He brought with him some rainforest creatures. Some of us were brave enough to touch them. He taught us some valuable information about the rainforest and about some of the creatures in particular.

In the afternoon, we investigated other animals that live in the rainforest. We used a branching database to name and identify some animals.

Finally, at the end of the day, Paul shared some information and photos with the whole year group about some of his recent travels around the world.

What a great way to start our Rainforest theme!

Please take a look at some of our rainforest photos in the year 3 gallery.
