Welcome to the Bumblebee and Dragonfly classes.
We've had a good first week back (other than the water issues!) and the children have begun to settle very well into their new routines.
Thank you for all your support with homework, magazine clippings, baby photos and show and tell - it has all fed in really well to our classwork.
We have begun lots of topic work thinking about ourselves and our families. We will start talking about how life was different when our parents and grandparents were our age.
The children have been learning how to be a little more independent with changing their reading books - we ask them every day if it needs changing and they are now allowed to go and do this by themselves. Please support your child's progress by hearing them read as often as possible and writing in their diary when you do so, they get rewarded for 5 reads a week!
We will be sending home spellings in the next few weeks - keep an eye on their reading diary for what is in there.
PE - please make sure your child has a named PE kit in school. Both classes have inside PE on a Monday (T-shirt and shorts) and outside PE (Dragonflies Weds, Bumblebees Thursday) so please make sure they have shoes to change into and warmer clothes.
The teachers and teaching assistants are there every morning if you need us - or after school once the class has been sent out to their parents - feel free to have a chat with us or make an appointment to see us if you need it.
Advance notice - our first open morning for you to look at the classrooms and the children's work will be Tuesday 2nd October 8.55-9.15.
