Great of Fire of Thrapston!
We have had a busy day in year 1 and 2.
We have had an amazing day which included a visit from the local fire brigade, a fire protection officer talk and grand smoking finale where we burnt the Tudor houses we had made.
The fire brigade showed us their equipment and how it was stored on their engine. They compared how a modern fire fighter fights fires compared to how people had to put out fires in the past.
Jo the Fire protection officer talked to the children about the Great Fire of London and how the fire brigade has changed.
This afternoon the rain held off long enough for us to take our houses to the field and build a model London. We made sure the houses were close together as they were in 1666. The children then stood at a very safe distance to watch what happened when the first spark lit the bakery.
