A busy term!
We are quickly approaching the end to a very busy term at nursery!
We welcomed our new children and families and have enjoyed getting to know them all. The older children have been very kind and have helped our new starters in learning the routines at nursery, such as snack time and tidy up time.
This term we learnt about winter through a range of experiences, such as playing with ice, Arctic animals and by building igloos and snowmen! We were lucky enough to have a few days of light snow and ice, which the children enjoyed exploring. These experiences sparked discussions about the weather, how ice is made and how it changes state. It also encouraged the children to share their previous experiences of winter.
We celebrated Chinese New Year by listening to a story about the Jade Emperor and the twelve animals and by tasting Chinese food. We made our own vegetable spring rolls and tried them alongside noodles, prawn crackers and sweet and sour sauce.
The children also enjoyed taking part in the RSPB bird watch. They used binoculars to look out from our bird hide and toy cameras to take pictures! We made bird food to hang in the garden and learnt about why it is important to provide birds with food this time of year.
This term has been lots of fun, but we are definitely ready for a restful break!
Thank you for your continued support,
The Nursery Team :)
