Did you 'wonder' what Y6 have been doing?

Last week, we attended the Women’s Cycling Tour, 2017, where we took part in cheering on the cyclists and participating in some bike related games such as: a bike track; spinning bikes and circuit training. Katarzyna Niewiadoma, of Poland, won stage 1 of the tour. As well as this exciting opportunity, we have been invited down to the building site on market road to explore and see the monument that they have found.

Some of our year sixes have also recently taken part in Bikeability. They had this from last Monday to last Thursday and the people who passed were then announced in Friday’s commendations assembly.

We have also been doing a hard maths problem on TV schedules, working out our own channel and what would be on and at what time. We weren’t allowed to have the same type of programme on at the same time. For example, you couldn’t have BREAKING NEWS and news next to each other. We also had to have either a 3 minute break in between every 30 minutes, or a total of 72 worth of advert breaks, spread out across the channel.

In Maths, we have been learning about parabolic curves… (to be continuedJ)

In English this week, we have started the book “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio. It is a heart-felt book about a young boy named August – who suffers from Treacher Collins syndrome – who is starting his first school (Beecher Prep).
