Angles, averages and football...
What a busy couple of weeks we have had!
During our Maths lessons, we have learned lots of new skills. We can now find the mean, median, mode and range of a set of data (and we know an annoying song to help us!).
This Nursery rhyme can also be used to help us remember:
‘Hey diddle diddle, the median’s the middle,
You add then divide for the mean.
The mode is the one that you see the most,
And the range is the difference between.’
We have also been busy finding missing angles on straight lines, around a point and in triangles. Some of the questions we have been trying to solve have been challenging to say the least!
In English lessons, we have enjoyed exploring the text ‘Holes’, using our inference and deduction skills to dig deeper into the meaning hidden between the lines (excuse the pun)!
Football coaching also began this week with Matt, who is from the FA, delivering a skills programme. The children have been learning how to work together as a team and making decisions within a game. We are looking forward to next week’s session, where we will play mini-games.
We also had a visit from the local PCSO to give us more information about bullying. As a reminder of how to respond if you are being bullied, we were given a ‘Blue Butterfly’ badge.
Thank you for your support.
